Abstract: Why is there no prayer vigil organized by the Southeast Synod or by the ELCA?
Why is there no prayer vigil organized by the Southeast Synod or by the ELCA? Why aren't Presiding Bishop Hanson or Bishop Ron Warren willing to declare publicly that they are in prayer with the people of St. John's Church in Atlanta? The policy really is the problem not only because it excludes from the ministry people whom God has called, but because it creates barriers among people and communities who ought to be able to pray together. Thanks to the policy, in stead of prayer in common, we have closed trials and rumors of gag orders. Does no one on Higgins Road understand that this is wrong?
